Outdoor Classroom
Bring your class for a fun day at the Florida Botanical Garden and enjoy quality curriculum-based tours led by experts from Pinellas County Extension. A minimum of 10 and maximum of 30 students can be accommodated for each tour. Tours are scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday at 10:00 am and usually last 1-1/2 hours. Prior to the tour you will receive several educational activities aligned with the Florida Sunshine Standards.
Each of the tours listed below are conducted as an interactive tour of different areas of the Florida Botanical Gardens. Students are introduced to the complex subject of sustainability by seeing, hearing, smelling, touching, and even tasting. If desired a waste- free lunch activity can be scheduled as well.
Available Tours
- Plants and People - Cultivated Plants and their Uses

Waste-Free Lunch Challenge (30 minutes)
Following any of the garden tours, students are invited to stay for a “waste-free lunch challenge” where the students bring a packed-lunch and we eat together then examine what in the lunchbox can be re-used, re-cycled, or composted. The goal is to leave no trash!
