4-H Family

Family Picture4-H Family is an informal, fun, and educational program that provides the opportunity for youth and adults to learn together and create a strong, safe, and positive environment where family members can flourish. Through this program will find ways to enhance your family’s ability to identify existing strengths, communicate, make decisions, and how you can make a difference in your community.

4-H Family offers Two Programs

  • 4-H Family P.L.A.Y.
  • 4-H Family “Teening Up”

4-H Family P.L.A.Y. (Parents Learning Along with Youth) is a free four-week family experience. Through fun and engaging activities, families will learn how to identify existing family strengths, communicate effectively, make decisions, and explore ways to make their community better.

This program is offered at various community indoor spaces such as community centers and recreation centers. Dates and times will be determined by the 4-H staff and the participating group.

Please note there is a minimum of five families required to participate.

A six-week group learning program designed to help parents/caregivers and teens learn about and understand the normal development of teenagers and improve their family communication.

Participating families will learn about The Teen Brain; Transitions in Adolescence; Positive Discipline; Talking with Teens about issues that affect their daily lives; Understanding Teen Anger and Managing Yours; and Empowering Teens to Build Assets.

Please note there is a minimum of 12 families required to participate.
