Power Plants

Suitable for Grades: 2-12
Required Curriculum: Plant Connections Lesson 2
Program Available: Weekdays
This tour through the formal gardens will introduce students to plants from around the world that provide familiar household objects and to the concept of renewable resources. We will learn how people from other cultures may use plants that we know only from gardens. The subject of ethnobotany is introduced. During the tour we will discover plants used for fiber (cotton, palms, bamboo), paper (trees and papyrus) and medicine (vinca) from all over the world.
