Tropicana Public Speaking Program
Sunshine Standards: LA
This program is designed to give students in 4th through 6th grade experience in speaking before a group. It includes a public speaking competition at the class, school, and county levels.
The first place Elementary winner and the first place Middle School winner will each receive a roving trophy to keep at their school for a year. First place winners also get a five-day trip to 4-H summer camp in Ocala National Forest. Second—Fourth place winners will receive plaques compliments of Tropicana.

Program will be sent to the school coordinator as enrollments are received beginning November 1, 2009.
Each enrolled classroom will receive one set of classroom ribbons (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) and each school will receive medallions for the school winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place).

- March 15, 2010 - Final date for Enrollments to reach the 4-H office
- April 1, 2010 - Semifinals Times and locations will be announced
- April 23, 2010 – Deadline for Classroom and School competitions
- April 23, 2010 – Tropicana School Winners due in 4-H Office
- Weeks of May 10 and 17 – Semifinal contests TBA
- May 25, 2007 - County Final at Pinellas Extension Office - Time - 7 p.m.
