Florida Carpenter Ants, Camponotus abdominalis floridanus are a large ant, about 5 to 10mm long with a red thorax and black abdomen. The ant has one node on the petiole. It nest in mulch, logs and in wall voids of houses. It can hollow out wood in order to make its nest, depositing wood pieces nearby. More....
