The Pinellas County Master Food & Nutrition Volunteer program began in 2008 graduating our first class of volunteers in March.
It has been well established that a need exists within our community for current, research-based information regarding health and nutrition. Our Master Food & Nutrition Volunteers play a critical role in making it possible for people throughout Pinellas County to receive this information through educational, interactive and fun programs.
Master Food & Nutrition Volunteers reach a variety of audiences including seniors, adults, children, and families. We provide programs for faith-based organizations, family centers, worksites, schools, recreation centers, clubs and anyone else interested in learning how to live a healthy life.
Prior training, education, and nutrition knowledge are not needed for selection to the Master Food & Nutrition training program. A sincere desire to learn and help others and a personal commitment to volunteer service are the main qualities needed.
