Florida Certified Landscape Technician
The Florida Certified Landscape Technician (FCLT) program presents Florida’s landscape and nursery industry with the only standard to measure knowledge and skills of practicing landscape technicians in Florida. FNGLA’s FCLT program is designed for employees of landscape contracting, maintenance or design build firms, as well as county & municipal government agencies, parks & recreation departments and home and land developers.
Candidates must pass a comprehensive 12-part field exam, plus the FCHP Core Written Exams to demonstrate knowledge in horticulture and landscape practices. For more complete information visit: http://www.fngla.org/certification/FCLandTech.asp
Requirements
If you must meet the following criteria, to be eligible to become certified and proudly display the FCLT emblem on your uniform and in your business:
- you must pass the Florida Certified Horticulture Professional exams
- to sit for the FCLT exam must have a minimum of one year experience in the horticulture/landscape industry.
Fees & Renewal Information
Exam Fees:
- $220 for FNGLA members
- $385 for non-members

- Exam fees cover all field exams, including plant material, supplies and equipment required. Lunch, snacks and refreshments are also provided. You must provide your own safety equipment, calculators, rulers and writing utensils. Manuals and training sessions require an additional fee.
Renewal Information:
- Every 3 years
- FCLTs are required to earn 15 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in order to renew. Without the CEUs the exam must be retaken
- Renewal is $50 for FNGLA members and $75 for non-members for the three-year certification period
